Active curiosities
Not everything ships immediately. These are the active curiosities — domains I'm genuinely interested in, with artifacts in progress. The pattern is that most of them eventually become real software.
Curiosity → product
7 of these curiosities have already become live software — that's the whole pattern. The ones below are still in the workshop.
Space & Aviation
Tracking every aircraft overhead from raw ADS-B radio signals — a $25 dongle, a decoder, and a live map overlay. A hobby build inching toward a real tool.
Technology & AI
A living map of the AI tooling and model landscape — companies, models, benchmarks, and how they stack up — kept current as the field moves. The curiosity that started with the AlphaGo documentary in 2017.
Food & Culture
Long-form writing on regional food culture — the kind of place-specific, historically-grounded food writing that treats geography as an ingredient.
Pickleball
Most players in my rec league had no DUPR rating, yet you could see the skill gaps from across the court. VolleyForge is my attempt at the missing first rung — an easy on-ramp to a rating for new players and the leagues that have to place them.
Programmatic SEO
Turning a dataset into thousands of pages without wrecking a domain. Done wrong it sinks your rankings; done right it's leverage — a quality-first discipline across search (SEO), answer engines (AEO), and generative engines (GEO). The tooling is easy; the gate is the hard part.
Quantum Computing
A conceptual interactive for making quantum mechanics intuitive — superposition, entanglement, and the gap between classical and quantum intuition, made tangible.
